IntroductionWHO ARE WE?Association of Physically Disabledin Zagreb (further in text “Association”) is a non-profit (non-governmental) organisation involved in social and humanitarian work. Association has 325 members who are for 46 years continuously working on the improvement of the quality of living for persons with paraplegia in the greater Zagreb region. Throughout its history, association changed its name and structure couple of times. It was founded on May 18, 1977, as the Association of Physically Disabled, under which name it works again today and acts as its legal successor and continuator of organized social activity by and for persons with physical disability in the city Zagreb.
WHY DID WE JOIN TOGETHER? Voluntary associating and organising of persons with physical disability aimed at: protection and promotion of common interests, active participation in the rehabilitation and socialisation, and providing various form of support to the members.
HOW IS THE ASSOCIATION RUN? Association is run directly by all its members at the Assembly (highest governing body) or through their elected representatives in the Executive Board (Assembly's executive body) and Supervisory Board. Association is represented by its chairperson, and in his absence or secretary.
WHAT IS OUR MISSION AND VISION? Association’s vision is a developed social and economic system where persons with disability, as subjects with equal opportunities, are treated so as to respect their needs and their human dignity. Our missionis raising the social awareness of rights, needs and potentials of persons with disability, and advocating a model for their participation on equal terms in the development of their community.
WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER?Regular members of the Association are:
Associate members can become Croatian nationals or legal entities based in Croatia who with their expert and humanitarian work improve the functioning of the Association and improve the quality of life for persons with disability.

SOURCES OF FINANCING? Financing of Association’s activities is not systematically solved. A smaller part of overhead costs for the Association’s regular activities is covered from municipal funds and membership fees, while most of its activities are financed through other sources, such as grants, donations, gifts and the like.
HOW CAN YOU HELP US?
WHAT IS YOUR INCENTIVE TO CONTRIBUTE? Primarily Your sociality and Your charitablity. But also Croatian tax regulation – Profit Taxation Bill (see official bulletin “Narodne Novine”, no. 177/04, 90/05, 57/06 and 146/08), that allows You to include in Your taxation period expenses also donations of up to 2% of Your income in the previous year. Deductible from the taxable income are either donations in nature or donations in money (transferred to the bank account) for the cultural, scientific, educational, healthcare, humanitarian, sport, religious and other purposes, to the associations or persons that attend to the said activities in accordance with relevant regulations.
